Mean Green
Date: April 30
Time: 10:58 AM
Location: 5 miles NNE of FM 2706 at Hwy 287, Anderson County, TX
Site: In a boggy inlet of a small lake.
Weather: Overcast, winds 13 mph SSE
Temperature: 76 F
Humidity: 74%
Notes: While recording a beautiful lavendar Wild Iris, we apparently disturbed an Anole by encroaching on his territory. We must have taken too long because he decided he had had enough. Displaying his brightest green, he moved towards us and began to bob his head and extend his red throat patch (known as a dewlap). This was his way of saying that this was his turf and we had better step off. Looks like he told us!
